On the same day the Pittsburgh Steelers announced they hired Mike McCarthy to be their new head coach, one of the Steelers current coordinators made a move as well. According to multiple reports, including ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter, Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith is heading to Ohio State University to be their offensive coordinator.

Smith spent the last two seasons with the Steelers as their offensive coordinator and while the offense didn't make a leap in production, anything was an improvement. Smith spent the previous two seasons as the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons and had some interest from NFL teams this offseason but chose to head to college to one of the premier programs in the country.

The only Steelers coordinator who hasn't found a new home yet is defensive coordinator Teryl Austin. Special teams coordinator Danny Smith took a job in the same role with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. No word yet about who McCarthy will bring in to fill out his staff.
