Following the round of virtual interviews, the Pittsburgh Steelers are bringing in two head coach candidates for in-person interviews this week.

According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, the Steelers have second interviews scheduled this week with two defensive coordinators for their head coach vacancy — Brian Flores of the Minnesota Vikings and Anthony Weaver of the Miami Dolphins.

Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver has a second interview scheduled with the Pittsburgh Steelers for Friday, per source.

Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores will also meet with the Steelers again this week.

Flores, one of the brightest defensive minds in the league, was previously hired by Pittsburgh as their linebackers coach/senior defensive assistant. He became the Vikings’ defensive coordinator in 2023 and found tremendous success over his past three years in Minnesota.

Weaver has served as the Dolphins’ defensive coordinator over the past two seasons, where he’s made more with less, reshaping Miami’s defensive identity in the process.

While both Flores and Weaver are strong candidates, arguably the best possible fit for Pittsburgh’s head coach vacancy became available on Monday, as the Buffalo Bills parted ways with longtime head coach Sean McDermott.
