The Pittsburgh Steelers and Miami Dolphins are reportedly hot on the trail of one of the better free-agent wide receivers this offseason.

According to Easton Butler of Packers Report, the Dolphins are considered the No. 1 suitor for Green Bay Packers pending free-agent wide receiver Romeo Doubs, who Spotrac projects will land a four-year, $48 million deal in free agency.

Butler adds that the Steelers are "just as strong," and that was the case with the Buffalo Bills prior to their DJ Moore trade with the Chicago Bears.

The Philadelphia Eagles and New Orleans Saints are both interested in Doubs, also, Butler notes.

"Dolphins are clear #1 so far for WR Romeo Doubs, with the Steelers and Bills just as strong. Other teams interested are Eagles and Saints," Butler reported.

A former fourth-round pick of the Packers in 2022, Doubs has showed he can be a solid No. 2 receiver in an offense over his four-year career after posting three campaigns with 600 yards or more, including a career-high 724 in 2025.

The expectation has been that Doubs won't be back in Green Bay because of the team's crowded wide receivers room and the Packers' limited cap space.

The Dolphins' need at wide receiver is clear. After cutting ties with Tyreek Hill, the Dolphins' cupboard is bare at wide receiver behind Jaylen Waddle.

Doubs also has connections to the Dolphins through head coach Jeff Hafley and general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan, both of whom were in Green Bay with him.

In Pittsburgh, the story is the same as it has been the past two years: the Steelers not only need a good No. 2 receiver, they also need more depth to fill out a suspect-at-best wide receivers room.

Acquiring Doubs would be a worthwhile addition for both teams as they seek to add some more firepower to their respective passing attacks.
