The 2026 NFL Draft is almost here, and one Day 3 prospect has the speed the Pittsburgh Steelers could use in their running back room.

Look no further than Wake Forest running back Demond Claiborne, one of the fastest prospects in his class, who can take almost any touch to the house with track-star speed.

Here's a look at Claiborne's scouting report, containing important information on his bio, strengths, concerns, stats, and highlights.

Demond Claiborne, RB, Wake Forest​

  • Height: 5-feet 10-inches
  • Weight: 188 pounds
  • 40-yard dash: 4.37 seconds
  • Projection: Fifth- to sixth-round

Strengths​

  • Insane top-end speed (former track background)
  • Fantastic burst that stresses defenders vertically
  • Extremely twitchy, great change of direction
  • Ideal fit for zone-blocking schemes
  • Versatility as a kick return specialist

Concerns​

  • Frame concerns, limited run strength
  • Major ball security issues in 2025 (five fumbles)
  • Ability as a receiver and blocker needs work

  • 2022: 14 carries, 57 yards, 4.1 yards per attempt, zero touchdowns
  • 2023: 137 carries, 586 yards, 4.3 yards per attempt, 5 touchdowns

(Note: Claiborne also recorded 424 receiving yards and two touchdowns on 55 catches from 2022-2025. Additionally, he returned 22 kickoffs for 579 yards and two touchdowns.)
