The San Antonio Spurs did well during the NBA Finals, though they lost in five games.

At the end of the day, this was a very young team, and if things go as planned over the next few years, this group should at least have one ring. Nothing is ever guaranteed in this league, but San Antonio has to feel very confident in what it can do in the future.

Interestingly enough, there are still some areas where they can improve, and the Spurs will be challenged to address them this offseason.

Adding another shooter could be a good idea, or a player who can create for themselves. One of those guys who proved he could do that this year was Michael Porter Jr. of the Brooklyn Nets, now floated as a potential trade option for a Spurs team that can use as much scoring as it can get.

San Antonio Spurs Receive: Michael Porter Jr., 2032 first-round pick (Nuggets)

Brooklyn Nets Receive: De’Aaron Fox

“This would be the best return for the Spurs, even if it may be the hardest trade to complete. Michael Porter Jr. averaged 24.2 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 3.0 assists in his first season with the Nets. He shot 46.3% from the field, 36.3% from three, and made 3.4 threes per game. His season ended early because of a left hamstring strain, but he still produced the best individual numbers of his career,” Fran Leiva wrote.

I'm a lot higher on Porter as a player than others around the basketball world. I believe he has a real opportunity to help a contending team, and he showed he can do that with the Denver Nuggets.

Adding him for Fox and a second-round pick would feel too good to pass up, in my opinion.
