San Antonio Spurs superstar center Victor Wembanyama is ruled out for the second half of Monday's contest against the Philadelphia 76ers due to a left rib contusion.

Wembanyama took a fall in the first half and headed to the locker room. The 22-year-old went down in pain after taking an elbow from an opposing player. He returned for the remainder of the first half, but couldn't give it a go for the second half.
He finished the game with 17 points on 7-of-11 shooting, five rebounds, one assist and three blocks in 16 minutes of action.
With his 16 minutes of action on Monday, it counts as one of his two "near-miss" exemptions to the 20-minute threshold on the 65-game rule.
The French center is having one of the best seians og hsi yougn career. Wembanyama has a real chance to come away with his first MVP of his career this season.
The former No. 1 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft is averaging 24.9 points per game, 11.6 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 3.1 blocks while shooting 50.9 percent from the field and 35 percent from three in 62 games and 29.4 minutes of action.
Monday’s contest marked his 63rd game of the season, but the severity of the injury remains unclear. If it proves significant and sidelines him for the remainder of the regular season, Wembanyama would fall short of eligibility requirements for major awards, including MVP.
According to DraftKings, Wembanyama currently has the second-best odds to win MVP at +900.
The Spurs have established themselves as one of the best teams in the league, sitting at the No.2 seed in the loaded Western Conference.
