Spain enter the 2026 World Cup as the second-highest-ranked team and one of the heavy favorites for the title in North America.
European champions two years ago, La Roja boast one of the strongest rosters of any nation at these finals, and it would be a profound shock indeed if they did not at least progress to the knockout phase.
While there are concerns around the fitness of star winger Lamine Yamal, head coach Luis de la Fuente has plenty of options at his disposal as he looks to navigate a group that, on paper, will pose little difficulty until Spain's third and final match against Uruguay.
Here is everything you need to know about Spain's appearance at the World Cup, including the latest results from the tournament.

Spain World Cup 2026 draw bracket for Group H
Group H's victor will enter the knockout stage against the runner-up from Group J. They will be one of four sides to duel with a team that finishes second in a group. The other eight group winners will face off with a third-place qualifier.
Conversely, Group H's runner-up will play the winner of Group J.
Group H's third-place finisher also figures to be in the hunt for a spot in the knockout rounds. If they finish with more points and a higher goal difference than seven other third-place sides, they can finish with one of four foes:
- Winner of Group G
- Winner of Group A
- Winner of Group L
- Winner of Group I
We won't know which third-place qualifiers will land in the knockout stages until the games are played. There are hundreds of mathematical combinations of third-place qualifiers.
