Spain coach Luis de la Fuente believes that Lamine Yamal's best match at the World Cup is yet to come.

"I told him to stay calm and enjoy it. Lamine Yamal's big day is still to come at this World Cup. I hope it's tomorrow or in the final, if we qualify," he said in a news conference on Monday.

France will face Spain on Tuesday for a spot in the final against either England or Argentina.

Yamal has been named "man of the match" a few times but he has scored only one goal in six games and is yet to provide an assist.

The young talent celebrated his 19th birthday a day before the match and is not bothered by the lack of goals.

"I'm not worried about scoring or not," he said, stressing that the collective success of the team is the most important.

France is led by several top stars, including captain Kylian Mbappé, Ousmane Dembélé and Michael Olise, but De la Fuente wants his players to be themselves.

"We have to remain strong and fight against the strength of our opponents," he said.
