After ending UConn's 54-game win streak on Friday night, Dawn Staley and her South Carolina Gamecocks will face the UCLA Bruins on Sunday afternoon. This year's championship will be South Carolina's third appearance in the final game in five seasons under Staley. Across her four total appearances in the National Championship game (2017, 2022, 2024, and 2025), the Gamecocks' coach boasts a 3-1 record, with her sole loss coming last year to the UConn Huskies.

The aftermath of Friday's second Final Four game saw UCLA walk away from the turmoil and head to the women's program's first-ever national championship. The Bruins defeated fellow No. 1 seed Texas Longhorns 51-44 to secure their spot at the table. After Bruins' head coach Cori Close led the program to its first-ever Final Four appearance at last year's tournament, her team decided to one-up that result with the potential for a trophy.
