This was actually really good. Took Mom to see it as a Christmas treat. Great acting and music, touching and brutal all wrapped in one. An emotional roller coaster.

It won a Razzie. Kate Hudson was the Razzie winner for worst actress in 2020. She won the Razzie Redeemer award this year. The Razzie Redeemer Award is an award presented at the annual Golden Raspberry Awards (also known as the Razzies) to a past Razzie Award nominee or winner who becomes "a respected artist" and comes back from critical or commercial failure.
Director Craig Brewer did win a Spotlight Director Award at the Savannah Film Festival.

Still on our watchlist. I saw Neil three times in concert, so I've been looking forward to this one since I first heard about it.
Saw Neil back in '92 at the then America West Arena. Great, great concert!
As to the movie.... it was not what I expected, but it was much better than I expected. Really good flik.

Ditto. Watched this and Marty Supreme back to back on a plane and liked this one much better. Being in the musical tribute world myself I could relate. Was not expecting the radical plot turn about halfway through. That was very well executed.
