WWE and the NFL have had quite a few crossovers over the years.
The Rock started had a promising career in football before moving into sports entertainment, while Brock Lesnar was part of the Minnesota Vikings for a short period.
Likewise, WWE has also launched the XFL more than once as a direct competitor to the NFL and the parallels between being a major football star and a top WWE star are obvious.
Still, not all the crossover is positive and in news emerging from New Orleans this week, it seems one WWE hopeful and son of a hall of famer is in trouble.
New Orleans Saints suspend Brock Rechsteiner for six games
The name of Rechsteiner is a big one in WWE. Cut down to include just the ‘Steiner’ part, Scott Steiner was one of WCW and WWE’s top stars in the 90s and early 2000s.
Scott’s brother Rick was also his tag-team partner, while in the more modern era, Bronson Rechsteiner (known as Bron Breakker) has also become a major star.

Now though, the family name has been tarnished a touch as 23-year-old Brock Rechsteiner has been suspended by NFL franchise New Orleans Saints for an unknown reason.
Brock is hoping to make the final 53-man squad for the season but he will be suspended from playing when games officially get underway. It’s reported that this will only increase pressure on Brock, with the Saints already considering cutting him anyway.
As for the WWE, Rechsteiner has made no secret of his desire to try and make it like his Dad and brother.
However, this sort of stuff does not sit well with higher ups in huge companies like the WWE.
Nevertheless, he might well make his way on board one day and at just 23, has ample time to put things right.
