The Hunterdon Central softball team looks to repeat as Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex Tournament champions when play begins April 30. However, the Red Devils will be in a different position than last season when they captured the title as the No. 8 seed.

No longer underdogs, Hunterdon Central drew the top seed for this year’s tournament. Pope John earned the No. 2 seed followed by third-seeded Warren Hills and fourth-seeded Delaware Valley. North Hunterdon drew the No. 6 seed and South Hunterdon was the ninth-seed.

The pairings for the 19-team tournament were released Friday. All rounds before the finals are at the higher seeds.

Action begins with the first round on April 30 and continues with the second round on May 3. Hunterdon Central earned a bye into the quarterfinals on May 7 with the semifinals on May 10.
