Texas A&M's Maroon & White served as the final scrimmage of the offseason for third-year coach Mike Elko and his newly formed roster, hoping that the progress made on both sides of the ball over the last month would come to fruition on the field. However, the injury to senior linebacker Daymion Sanford placed a cloud over an already gloomy afternoon in College Station.

Still, former Alabama wide receiver Isaiah Horton put on a show, reeling in over 80 yards and making one of the more impressive catches you'll see this offseason off a back-shoulder throw from sophomore quarterback Brady Hart, who was equally impressive in the pocket.

Redshirt junior quarterback Marcel Reed didn't have a banner day, which was expected given Elko's plan to play every active quarterback on the roster, especially Brady Hart and freshman Helaman Casuga, but the Tennessee native made several impressive throws in the middle of the field, especially when connecting with star wideout Mario Craver.

Without getting too far ahead, Colorado transfer safety Tawfiq Byard stood out on defense, while freshman cornerback Brandon Arrington made one of the more impressive plays, creating a pass breakup off one of Marcel Reed's better deep passes on the day.

Again, Texas A&M's spring season can't be accurately graded, but heading into the summer, Daymion Sanford's health status will be the primary concern before fall camp begins in early August. After the Maroon team's 15-13 victory, here are the best social media reactions from Saturday's Maroon & White Game.

WR Isaiah Horton is the real deal, folks

Yeah, this is not something Texas A&M had last season. pic.twitter.com/qLapEA6dyi

Freshman CB Brandon Arrington impressed

Texas A&M QB Marcel Reed had a great deep ball to freshman WR Aaron Gregory about 35 yards down the field, but he couldn't quite come down with it after hitting the ground hard. Brandon Arrington in coverage. Best throw of the day from Reed.

The backup quarterback battle has likely been decided

One off-season decision I really questioned was not bringing in more competition for QB2

After watching Brady Hart today, I feel much better about the QB2 spot. He looks good.

The sophomore running back might have a case for RB1

Jamarion Morrow can really just take off like that

Texas A&M's kicking game is in very good hands

Can we make some noise for the 50+ yarder from the freshman Asher Murray!?!?!? pic.twitter.com/stgYXrQ1gz

The skill guys stood out, which is a good sign for the offense in 2026

Texas A&M QB Marcel Reed with a good, deep throw to WR Mario Craver for a 40-yard gain. From Isaiah Horton to Mario Craver to Jamarion Morrow, there's been a lot of good plays from the skill guys today.

LB Daymion Sanford's status remains unknown

Texas A&M coach Mike Elko said LB Daymion Sanford has a lower-body injury but didn't have an update on his status: "We'll figure it out."
