The Oklahoma Sooners left no doubt in their national championship-clinching win over the North Carolina Tar Heels on Monday night. For the first time in more than 30 years, Oklahoma baseball is at the top of the sport.

The Sooners overcame an elimination game in Atlanta after trailing 8-2 to Georgia Tech. Then they beat the ACC Champion Yellow Jackets in extra innings to move on to the super regionals. They were dominant in Lawrence in their two-game sweep of the Kansas Jayhawks to earn a spot in the College World Series.

In Omaha, they opened with a 9-0 shutout of No. 7-seeded Alabama and then proceeded to beat the SEC champion Georgia Bulldogs in two straight to reach the finals. And on Monday, in the deciding game three, the Oklahoma Sooners dominated No. 5 seed North Carolina in a 13-2 win to clinch their first baseball national championship since 1994.

It was a magical run for Skip Johnson and his team. In the wake of their national championship, here's how social media reacted.

Not a prediction, a spoiler

Following the #Sooners win over Tennessee on May 17, Deiten Lachance told us, "We're going to win the whole thing" when asked about the confidence level the team had heading into the SEC Tournament.

Admittedly, when he said that, I shrugged it off as a player having confidence…

Best team in baseball when it mattered most

Oklahoma didn’t just “get hot”. This was four straight weeks of DOMINATING the best teams from every conference.

OU realized its full potential which was always there. No asterisk. No ifs ands or buts. This is the best team in all of college baseball!

It's the circle of life

The last time the Oklahoma Sooners won the College World Series was in 1994, the year I was born. 31 years later, they win it again, the year my son will be born. Pretty awesome. #Sooners
