Boston Red Sox pitcher Patrick Sandoval
Eight days after the Boston Red Sox swung a shocking and polarizing blockbuster trade with the Baltimore Orioles for Adley Rutschman, Rutschman made his Red Sox debut on Tuesday in Toronto.
Rutschman, who hadn't played since July 18, joined a slumping Boston squad that had lost three straight prior to Tuesday.
Batting third and manning catcher, the three-time All-Star looked good in his return from the injured list, going 1-for-3 with a single and two walks against the Blue Jays.

The Red Sox offense continued to struggle, however, managing just three runs on seven hits. Boston lost again, 5-3, extending its losing streak to four games. The Red Sox have scored three runs or fewer in all four games, suffering their longest losing streak since mid-June.
Boston still has two games left in its series against the defending AL champions, so a split remains possible. The Red Sox need their bats to wake up, however, and Rutschman will try to help them with that.
