EUGENE, ORE. (KELO) — Rapid City native Simeon Birnbaum set the collegiate record in the 1,500 meter run.
The Oregon junior completed the race in 3:31.69, more than a second faster than the previous record, which was set last year. That’s the third fastest time in the 1500 meter in the world this year.
