The Los Angeles Dodgers routed the New York Mets 8-2 Wednesday night in the third game of a series that was a showdown of expensive rosters. The Dodgers took all three matchups.

Two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani didn’t hit, but he did throw a gem in getting his second win of the season.

Ohtani threw six innings, allowing only one run and two hits while striking out 10 batters.

Blake Treinen and Tanner Scott held the Mets scoreless as each pitched an inning, and newly called up Kyle Hurt allowed a run but struck out three in the ninth inning.

For a moment, it appeared Edwin Diaz would get to face his former team, but an offensive explosion in the bottom of the eighth inning made his services unnecessary.

The Boys in Blue hit four homers Wednesday night.

Hyeseong Kim contined to take advantage of playing time amid Mookie Betts’ injury recovery, smashing a two-run homer in the second inning.

Teoscar Hernandez hit a solo homer in the sixth inning, but the real fireworks came in the eighth.

Dalton Rushing hit his first career grand slam, then Kyle Tucker hit his first homer for the Dodgers at Dodger Stadium.

What’s next for the Dodgers?

The Dodgers now have an MLB-best record of 14-4. They’re off Thursday but play again Friday at the Colorado Rockies.

First pitch is set for 5:40 p.m., and the Dodgers expect to start Tyler Glasnow (1-0).
