Colorado safety Shilo Sanders went undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft. He signed a UDFA contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers shortly after the conclusion of the draft.
Sanders was hoping to be one of the final picks of the day, but came down to the Bucs while he live streamed on Twitch. Shilo shared a moment with his younger brother, Shedeur, who was picked in the fifth round by the Cleveland Browns.
“Both of y’all, you’re resilient,” Deion Sanders told his sons Saturday via Well Off Media. “They tested the whole family."
Shilo signed a new agent in the process and fired Deion. He spoke about that hilarious move on Saturday.
"Dad was our agent, but that hasn't been working out too good," he said. "So today I had to sign with an agent."
Despite the draft not working out in Shedeur or Shilo's favor, they're both happy to land in the NFL with their respective teams. Coach Prime couldn’t have been more proud.
“I’m thankful,” Deion Sanders later added. “Tampa’s a wonderful spot.”
Shilo Sanders led the Buffaloes in tackles over the past two years with 137, despite dealing with several injuries during his time at Colorado. He suffered a lacerated kidney against Oregon in 2023. From that experience he became a better player.
During the 2024 offseason, Sanders had shoulder surgery, which caused some setbacks. He kept grinding and was ready for the season opener. However, a broken forearm against Nebraska slowed momentum for a few weeks.
Sanders is known as a hard hitter. At 25, he's older than most of last year's NFL rookie class.
He started his college career at South Carolina in 2019 before deciding to play for his father at Jackson State in 2021 and 2022 and then Colorado in 2023 and 2024. Last year, he racked up two pass breakups, two fumble recoveries, one sack, one forced fumble and a touchdown against UCF.
