The Cleveland Browns are holding a quarterback competition during training camp prior to the 2026 NFL season.

Currently, it's a two-man race.

Shedeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson are competing for the starting job, and it's gone back and forth all offseason. While Sanders is fighting an uphill battle, he revealed that it's something he's familiar with.

Underdog NFL shared a comment from Sanders in response to a question about whether he's been in a QB competition before. Sanders' response is a hilarious one that will surely garner plenty of attention, both good and bad.

Shedeur Sanders reveals he's been in a QB competition before: 'Me vs myself'

"Shedeur Sanders on if he's ever been in a QB battle before: 'Yeah, I have. Me vs myself.'" Underdog NFL shared.

It's such a perfect comment for an athlete. Players always try to hype themselves up or get themselves motivated to perform at a high level.

Sanders, who actually has been in a quarterback competition before during the 2025 season for the Browns, has never had a chance to be in a battle quite like this.

While he did compete for a spot last year, it wasn't the starting job, and just the team's third QB. This year, he's competing with a real chance to be the QB1 to begin the season.

Sanders has been in a QB battle before, but not like this. And yet, no matter what other answer he could've come up with, this one he gave is such a perfect one.

To respond to that question by saying that this isn't his first QB battle, and that he's been in a battle with himself, is such a good quote for a player in a positional battle.

It might be taken the wrong way, for someone who hasn't really been all that good in the NFL. But this is the kind of comment that's hilarious in the moment, and one that could totally stay in the lexicon of athletes for a while.

Yes, Sanders is in a battle for the starting QB job. But this is familiar territory for him. As he said, he's been in a QB competition before, "Me vs myself."
