Shedeur Sanders has been one of the most popular names in the NFL since he was drafted in 2025. There have been a number of reasons why Shedeur has gone viral over the last year (or so). His father Deion Sanders has consistently made headlines regarding his son, Shedeur’s fall in the 2025 NFL Draft (fell to the fifth round despite being projected as a first round draft pick), and the fact that he made the pro bowl with less than stellar stats.


Now, heading into the 2026 season it would seem that Deshaun Watson is making a push to once again being a starting quarterback in this league. That has prompted Deion Sanders to have a talk with the Browns head coach.

Shedeur Sanders’ Dad To Meet With Browns Head Coach​

Deion Sanders, Colorado’s head coach, claims that the Cleveland Browns never discussed his son, quarterback Shedeur Sanders, with him during his rookie season. After Todd Monken has been named Shedeur’s new head coach, it appears that he is willing to hear Deion Sanders out.


In an interview with the media on Wednesday, Monken stated that he would appreciate the opportunity to meet with Coach Prime regarding Shedeur. Despite not specifying a date for the meeting, he expressed excitement about the discussion.

“I’m open anytime he wants to meet…” Monken said, via ESPN. “I really am looking forward to it. I got a ton of respect for him, and I got a ton of respect for Shedeur because all he has done since I’ve been here is work. That’s all he has done is compete.”

In an interview on The Barbershop a few weeks ago, Deion Sanders expressed his disappointment that the Browns did not make any attempt to meet with him before or after drafting his son:

“I want to meet him because I think it’s vital that as a coach, not the dad, I can tell him a few things about [Shedeur], how to get him going,” he said at the time. “That wasn’t asked of me a year ago. I don’t understand it.

Even a guy like Travis Hunter being drafted to Jacksonville, and I’ve had him for the last three [years], don’t you think you would want to talk to me to ask me what gets him going and what backs him off? You would want to know that.”

There will be a few storylines to watch following this news. Will the Browns actually meet with Deion? Will Shedeur get a chance to start over Watson? Only time will tell.
