An Instagram user on Tuesday shared dramatic footage showing a fisherman watching in disbelief as a shark leaps just inches from his kayak and steals his catch.
The Instagram page, whose title contains a profane word, described the incident as a "code brown” event, and viewers can make of that what they will.
The original post, shown below, is in Arabic and shows the angler fighting the fish with spinning gear as the shark breaches and vanishes in an instant, leaving only a fish head. (The location and type of shark were not disclosed.)
The English version contains references to the “taxman,” which is fishing code for any shark that steals a hooked fish.
