Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert cannot escape the limelight amid his engagement to Madison Beer.

Footage of the pair during the Chargers’ training camp has gone viral on the internet, with Beer running her hands through Herbert’s hair on the field.

Many analysts and other sports personalities have commented on the matter.

Most have not been in favour of what they’ve seen, as many have suggested the true winners in the NFL – like Tom Brady – would not be seen doing it at this stage of the season.

Herbert has never won a postseason game, which is why he is likely coming under such scrutiny over his off-field relationship seeping into the Chargers facility.

Although some may argue that Herbert is showing maturity by settling down, Shannon Sharpe had his own views to get across.

Shannon Sharpe shares his verdict on viral Justin Herbert and Madison Beer video

Herbert is loving life as an engaged man as he looks to silence the outside noise from some of the NFL analysts.

The Chargers are facing a stacked AFC West division this year and will need Herbert to be at the top of his game for what is a seriously daunting opening nine weeks of their schedule.

Sharpe is hoping Herbert is not taking his eye off the ball as his personal life makes the mainstream media.

“People are allowed to have the kids being all on the field. We see it all the time – our kids were at the Super Bowl running on the field, and after practice, Lisa would let them come out there,” said Sharpe.

“Now, Chad, I don’t want y’all to get me wrong. That’s always been a part of it. But running the hand through the hair and picking on people? Hell no. To each his own. To each his own.”

The footage to emerge from training camp will potentially make or break Herbert’s season.

If the Chargers fail to impress this season, then there is a relatively easy narrative for some in the media to pick up on as to why Herbert may have struggled.

Alternatively, if Herbert does succeed, then his settled off-field relationship will likely be claimed the reason behind that.

A seriously interesting few months lie ahead for Herbert, who must be desperate to finally help the Chargers make a run into the playoffs.
