The NCAA basketball transfer portal closed this week. Several key programs are interested in adding former Auburn forward Chad Baker-Mazara.

Baker-Mazara entered the transfer portal last week after playing two seasons at Auburn. The electrifying forward will aim to play for his fourth NCAA Division I program thanks to an NCAA blanket waiver, which allows athletes with JUCO backgrounds the right to gain another season of eligibility. For Baker-Mazara, it will be his fifth season in Division I, his sixth overall as a collegiate athlete.

Where will he end up? Jeff Goodman of Field of 68 reports that several SEC programs have shown interest in Baker-Mazara, including Arkansas, Ole Miss, and Kentucky.

Baker-Mazara was a vital piece to Auburn's starting lineup over the last two seasons, where he averaged 11.2 points and 3.3 rebounds per game over 73 total games. He transitioned to a full-time starter at the three position this season, starting in 34 of Auburn's 38 games. He concluded the season with 12.3 points and 3.0 rebounds per game, and was efficient at the free-throw line, connecting on 88% of his attempts.

Auburn aims to replace over 60% of last season's Final Four roster, but has made progress by landing transfer forwards Keyshawn Hall and Keshawn Murphy from UCF and Mississippi State, respectively. Pearl recently provided an update on his journey to rebuild the roster, saying he needs to add one more "impact" player to fill vacancies.

"I think somebody else on the inside. KeShawn Murphy can play 4 or 5. Emeka (Opurum) is going to be really good, but I don't know how early in his career he's going to be there," Pearl said Tuesday (via Auburn Undercover). "We probably need another center. And then we'll pretty much be done."

Baker-Mazara was one of three notable players to enter the transfer portal after Auburn's season, joining forward Jahki Howard and guard JP Pegues. At the time of this post, Howard is the only player who has committed to play for another program. He announced his commitment to Utah over the weekend.
