OLD TAPPAN - Selden Kolkebeck threw so many quality pitches and senior classmate Anthony Onnembo made one sweet swing.

Kolkebeck and Onnembo were the stars in the Golden Knights's 2-0 victory over Cranford in a Group 3 state baseball semifinal June 8.

Kolkebeck threw a two-hitter with no walks and 10 strikeouts to give Old Tappan (24-4) a trip to the NJSIAA final June 14 vs. Brick Memorial at Rutgers.

Onnembo, the cleanup hitter, gave the Golden Knights their 2-0 lead in the sixth inning with a two-run homer to left. One batter earlier, Kolkebeck singled on a smoked grounder to third that took a bad hop.

Cranford got the tying run aboard in the seventh. Adam Kielczynski had reached on a one-out infield error and Jackson Schoening followed with a single to center before Kolkebeck retired the final two batters on fly balls to left and center.
