Seattle is reportedly prepared for record-breaking crowds during the United States’ World Cup clash with Belgium.

The USMNT are taking on Belgium in the Round of 16 at Seattle’s Lumen Field, with a place in the quarter-finals on the line.

It is expected to be the most-watched soccer match in US history, beating last week’s Round of 32 game against Bosnia.

Not only will Lumen Field be sold out, but hundreds of thousands are already lining the streets of Seattle ahead of the game.

Seattle expects bigger crowd for USMNT vs Belgium than Seahawks’ Super Bowl parade

Local media outlet DubseaTV is reporting that one million fans are expected to take to the streets of Seattle on Monday night.

“Seattle is preparing for what could be the largest event in city history as the United States takes on Belgium…

“City officials are expecting crowds of over 1,000,000 to pack out downtown, fan zones, restaurants, bars, and transit in the city, creating an event footprint that is expected to surpass the Seahawks Super Bowl parade earlier this year.”

The estimated attendance for the Seattle Seahawks’ NFL title parade in February was between 700,000 and one million.

Breaking that record in a Round of 16 game would demonstrate the enormous impact of the 2026 World Cup.

The United States appears to have finally been won over by soccer thanks to Mauricio Pochettino’s in-form team.

If the USMNT beat Belgium, they will face Spain in an incredible quarter-final match in Los Angeles this weekend.

Many Americans already believe they can win the World Cup, but another victory would probably convince the masses.
