Sean Brady and Joaquin Buckley meet on the UFC 328 main card Saturday at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. Check out this quick breakdown of the matchup from MMA Junkie analyst Dan Tom.
Brady (18-2 MMA, 8-2 UFC) aims to bounce back from a first-round TKO loss against Michael Morales. That fight ended a three-fight winning streak over Kelvin Gastelum, Gilbert Burns and Leon Edwards.
Buckley (21-7 MMA, 11-5 UFC) also enters on the heels of a loss, which came last June against Kamaru Usman. That setback ended an impressive six-fight winning streak, which included stoppages of Andre Fialho, Vicente Luque, Stephen Thompson and Colby Covington.
Filling out the main card is a matchup between Top 10 welterweights, Sean Brady and Joaquin Buckley.
Although both men are looking to bounce back from losses, Brady's defeat was definitely the more crushing of the two. That said, styles make fights, and I suspect that Brady's style could be kryptonite to Buckley.
Buckley will have an edge in the striking department, but his heavily loaded linear attacks could put him right into Brady's reactive takedown game.
Between Brady standing 3-0 opposite UFC-level southpaws and the fact that wrestlers have traditionally troubled Buckley, I feel like there is a clear path for the Philadelphia native here.
The pick is Brady to win by submission in Round 2.
The oddsmakers and the public favor the fighter from Philadelphia, listing Brady -178 and Buckley +148 via FanDuel.
Brady and Buckley are expected to walk to the cage at approximately 9:40 p.m. ET. The fight streams live on Paramount+.

Brady likes to kick into combos and can counter kicks w/TDs. He can trust his lead hand more in open-stance bouts but counter crosses remain his common culprit: pic.twitter.com/vzMajRxEej
