Seattle Seahawks center Jalen Sundell is eligible to return off IR ahead of Sunday's Week 15 matchup versus the Indianapolis Colts. Our Dom Skene already made a compelling argument for why the Seahawks need to re-insert Sundell into the starting lineup the second he's healthy. Head coach Mike Macdonald provided an update on his status when speaking with reporters on Monday.

The Seahawks will designate Sundell to return to practice this week, Macdonald confirmed to local reporters. Sundell went on IR after suffering a knee injury in Week 9. All signs indicate he's going to start against the Colts this weekend.

The most newsworthy item from Mike Macdonald's afternoon presser is that the Seahawks will designate Jalen Sundell to return to practice this week. He's spent the last four games on IR with a knee injury after starting the first nine at center.

Olu Oluwatimi has started the Seahawks' previous four games at center. He's been serviceable against some difficult defensive lines such as the Los Angeles Rams and Minnesota Vikings. The Seahawks' offense appeared to have a higher ceiling when Sundell was in the lineup though.

As Skeme noted, Sundell and rookie left guard Grey Zabel have built-in chemistry as a result of playing college football together at North Dakota State. Sundell is among the only centers in the NFL who haven't allowed a sack this season, according to Pro Football Focus. The second-year undrafted free agent has only allowed six pressures, and he's been whistled for just four penalties.

The Seahawks should get Sundell back versus a tough Colts defensive line in Week 15. Just in time for the NFC West division title push.
