The Seattle Seahawks have made their final roster moves before hosting the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday night football.
John Boyle put out a press release on seahawks.com at 1:14 p.m. PST.
They’ve activated wide receiver Dareke Young from injured reserve and elevated both running back Cam Akers and offensive tackle Amari Kight from the practice squad.
Young sustained a quad injury against the Houston Texans in Week 7 that has kept him on IR since. He was a key special teamer who returned kicks and covered both punts and kickoffs. He also made the occasional appearance on offense. He caught both of his targets this season for 12 and 36 yards respectively.
Akers has been on the Seahawks practice squad since late November, but has yet to make his debut. He was drafted by the Rams in 2020 and memorably helped them beat Seattle in the 2021 playoffs as he rushed for 131 yards on 28 carries and a touchdown in this same stadium.
Kight is a rookie undrafted free agent who has only been active for one game with the Seahawks so far. He took two snaps in Week 4 when Josh Jones was out. Now, Kight will be backing him up with Charles Cross out.
With kickoff quickly approaching, follow @TheSeahawksWire for the latest on the potential NFC West decider.
