The Seattle Seahawks' decision to select guard Grey Zabel in the first round of the 2025 NFL draft contributed to them winning Super Bowl 60. Zabel was excellent as a rookie, helping stabilize an offensive line that was a weakness during the previous season. The former North Dakota State standout immediately established himself as a high-upside starter.
Zabel now enters his sophomore 2026 campaign with significant expectations. That's the league-wide consensus. ESPN recently ranked the 10 best interior offensive linemen in the league. Zabel earned an honorable mention after his breakout rookie season.
"He played his ass off as a rookie," an anonymous NFC executive told ESPN while voting for Zabel to make the top-10 list. "He's going to be a Pro Bowler for [the Seahawks]. Excellent."
The Seahawks return the same starting five offensive line from their Super Bowl-winning season. That continuity up front should help Zabel make the desired sophomore leap. He'll thrive next to Charles Cross for a second consecutive campaign.
The Seahawks lost offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, but retained position coach John Benton. Coach Benton was an asset to Zabel while developing him throughout his rookie season. Zabel possesses every trait required to eventually establish himself as a top-10 interior lineman in the league.
