Seahawks FINALLY receive some love from the national media

For whatever reason, the reigning Super Bowl LX champion Seattle Seahawks have been largely overlooked by the national media. Whether it's obsession with the flash of the LA Rams, or folks refusing to acknowledge they were wrong about Seattle last year, whatever the reason may be it's getting obvious at this point. Even the Madden video game franchise is downplaying how good the Seahawks are!

It's seemingly every outlet, journalist and national media figure at this point. Well, almost everyone. Albert Breer of the MMQB traveled to training camps around the league, including Seattle's. His takeaways from the Seahawks is enough to make even the most hardened 12th Man blush. In an article published Monday morning, Breer describes Seattle's roster as "outrageous." Breer writes:

"It really hit me when I stood by a sled where defensive coordinator Aden Durde had the edge guys working on being violent with their hands. And the first thing I thought about was how they lost a defensive end, Boye Mafe, who got $20 million per year elsewhere yet still go four deep at the position, with DeMarcus Lawrence, Uchenna Nwosu, Dante Fowler and Super Bowl hero Derick Hall. Then I thought about how that’s not even the strongest position of their defensive line—with Leonard Williams and Byron Murphy II inside."

Yes, Breer did acknowledge the departures of Coby Bryant, Riq Woolen and Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III in free agency, as well as replacing Klint Kubiak with Brian Fleury as offensive coordinator. However, Breer did make mention how the Seahawks immediately drafted their replacements in Bud Clark, Julian Neal and Jadarian Price. Now, it remains to be seen how well those players will fill the shoes left for them, but it's not like Seattle let those pieces go and didn't have an actual plan for how to restock the cupboard.

Additionally, Breer touched on the fact the Seahawks have several core players like Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Devon Witherspoon, Charles Cross and Byron Murphy II all in their early-to-mid 20's. Seattle's nucleus is built to last.

Overall, I know the disrespect the Seahawks are getting from being overlooked is going to be wielded as a positive by the team. They will funnel that disrespect into motivation to defend their crown. But it is nice to see at least *someone* in the media recognize how talented this team is.
