The Seattle Seahawks could be getting a key special teamer back in time for the playoffs. On Tuesday morning, the Seahawks designated linebacker Chazz Surratt to return to practice. Surratt has been on the Injured Reserve (IR) list since Seattle's Week 12 victory over the Tennessee Titans, as he dealt with an ankle injury.

Overall this season, Surratt has been a special teams star, recording 11 total tackles on special teams - four of which were solo - which is behind only tight end Brady Russell for most on the Seahawks. The fact Seattle's special teams have shifted from a liability to a difference maker this season has helped fuel their rise to the No. 1 seed, and players like Surratt share in the glory of helping this unit.

It is a little fitting Surratt is able to return to practice this week against the 49ers, as they were the organization he was last with before signing with the Seahawks. Surratt spent the offseason/training camp with San Francisco but did not survive the final round of roster cuts. But the Niners' loss was Seattle's gain!

Seahawks Wire will continue to update based on new information regarding Surratt's health, and if he will be able to make it back for the Divisional Round showdown against San Francisco.
