DOVER - It was a good start to the season for the Division II St. Thomas Aquinas boys lacrosse team on Tuesday.
Facing Londonderry, a Division I opponent, the Saints had three goal-scorers and hung on for a 12-9 win.
"We had contributions from a lot of different guys and made plays in all phases of the game," St. Thomas head coach Scott Singer said. "It was a tough, physical battle against a scrappy Londonderry team, and a great way to start the season."
Finley DeTolla had a game-high six goals, and Ryan Resch and Aidan Morrison both had three for the Saints. Morrison added four assists, and Jackson Estes had six.
St. Thomas' Davin Pintarelli won 15 of 24 face-offs, and goalie Jake More had six saves.
