Scottish 'Tartan Army' Takes Over Fenway, Blasts Bagpipes Before Red Sox Game originally appeared on NESN. Add NESN as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
I'm starting to think the Scottish tourists in Boston may never leave.
The World Cup brought the Scottish "Tartan Army" to town. The visitors quickly fell in love with Boston's pub scene, and the feeling seemed to be mutual for many Bostonians themselves.
Scotland took their first game of the Group Stage on Saturday night by a score of 1-0 in Foxboro. But they weren't going to leave Boston without paying a visit to America's Ballpark.
So the Scots put on their kilts, grabbed their bagpipes, and marched to Fenway Park.
They made their presence known as the sounds of bagpipes filled the air on Lansdowne and Ipswich.

Some brought custom Red Sox jerseys, while others marched in their World Cup kits.
The Scots showed up in the hundreds, and Red Sox faithful loved it.

The Scots came to America to celebrate their first World Cup berth in 28 years. Fortunately for them, they touched down in the one city in America that loves their sports more than any other.
It really is a match made in heaven.
