Scottie Scheffler has earned numerous accolades in the past few years. The 13-time PGA Tour champion has won the Masters Tournament twice, won the Best Golfer ESPY Award, and even took home the gold medal at the Olympic Games in Paris. This past Sunday, to mark the start of Masters Week, Scheffler took advantage of one of the perks of earning top spot at one of golf's most prestigious tournaments.
As is the tradition, the Sunday before The Masters officially begins at Augusta National, past champions are encouraged to bring a guest to play the course with them. Last year, Scheffler invited his younger sister, Molly, to play. This year, he invited his mom, Diane, to join him for a stroll on the greens.

Scheffler said in a press conference that he has learned a lot from his mother and that the lessons he learned from her helped to carry him to where he is today.
“My mom is a really, really hard worker. I think I definitely learned a lot of my work ethic from watching her because she always put her best into her job and her best at being a mom as well,” he said.
“You know, she worked full-time while we were growing up, my dad stayed home and took care of all four of us and so it wasn't, I would say, an ideal situation for her. I think she would’ve rather stayed home all day,” he added.
Scheffler is the defending Augusta champion and is hoping to earn that coveted green jacket one more time. As play is now underway, we don't know yet what will happen. But, no matter what the outcome, we're pretty sure his mother will be proud.
