Scottie Scheffler was paired with Sam Burns for the first two rounds of the Travelers Championship.
Both players produced some very impressive golf during the first of those two rounds on Thursday at TPC River Highlands.
Scheffler got the better of Burns by two shots in the end after firing a six-under par 64 on day one of the Travelers Championship.
Scottie Scheffler is looking for his second win of the season and his 21st on the PGA Tour since February 2022.

Meanwhile, Burns is without a win since March 2023. However, it would be no surprise if that run ended soon, given the quality of golf he has been playing recently.
Maybe he will gain some inspiration from his good friend this week.
Scheffler just missed out on another major win at the US Open last week after an extremely average final round, but he was back to his very best on day one of the Travelers.
Scottie Scheffler says what Sam Burns is like as a playing partner
Scheffler addressed the media after his opening round at the Travelers Championship on Thursday afternoon.
The world number one and his good friend breezed around TPC River Highlands pretty much stress-free.
Scheffler was asked whether his relationship with Burns on the golf course has changed over the years.
“I mean, not really,“ he said.

“We’ve known each other a long time, so it’s always fun. We actually hadn’t played in competition in quite a while. So it was fun being out there today.
“Hopefully we’ll keep — Sam played solid today as well, so hopefully we’ll keep the momentum going for tomorrow.“
The two friends clearly fed off each other on day one in Cromwell, Connecticut, with neither of them making a bogey during their opening round.
Scottie Scheffler on the importance of a fast start at the Travelers
Scheffler responded when asked just how important it is to keep pace with the leaders after the opening round of the Travelers.
“When the scoring is lower it can be harder and harder to play catch up,“ the world number one admitted.
“I feel like when you play a golf course where even par is going to be the winning score at the end of the week there’s always those days where somebody figures it out.
“When you look at the low rounds from last week’s U.S. Open, there’s still a few of them, or at least one guy seems to figure it out each day, so you feel like you can catch up a little bit easier.
“Sometimes here you get so far behind you can only shoot so low on some of these golf courses, so it’s important to keep pace.“
