Scottie Scheffler has drawn plenty of Tiger Woods comparisons in recent years, and in one facet, he's about to surpass him.

Scheffler is on the verge of becoming No. 1 in official career earnings on the PGA Tour. He's currently No. 3, but will pass No. 2 Rory McIlroy after Sunday's conclusion to the FedEx St. Jude Championship.

Scheffler, who is just over $82,000 behind McIlroy on the career list, leads through 54 holes in Memphis, Tennessee. The winner will receive $3.6 million, with at least $500,000 paying out to anyone in the top 10. McIlroy is tied for 62nd.

FedEx St. Jude Championship 2026 prize money: Full payout for $20 million purse
Here’s how the $20 million purse will be paid out at the FedEx St. Jude Championship.

A win would put Scheffler at $119,964,411 — $1.04 million from passing Woods.

Woods has been atop the list since Feb. 13, 2000.

Of course, two playoff events remain, both with official purses. The BMW Championship will pay out another $3.6 million to the winner and the Tour Championship will offer $10 million to the victor.

That gives both Scheffler and McIlroy opportunities to pass Woods — and each other.

Here's a look at the current top 5 in official PGA Tour earnings:

  • 1. Tiger Woods: $120,999,166
  • 2. Rory McIlroy: $116,446,772
  • 3. Scottie Scheffler: $116,364,411
  • 4. Justin Rose: $78,589,373
  • 5. Justin Thomas: $74,203,414
