Saranac girls claim CVAC bowling title

PLATTSBURGH — It was a banner day for the Saranac girls’ bowling team. Before their match against Peru, the Spartan girls were presented as the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference champions for an undefeated regular season.

Saranac is currently undefeated through 14 matches.

Lacee LaPoint led the Saranac bowlers with a 589 series and high game of 214. Kennedy Paynter and Korra Andrews added series of 513 and 482, respectively.

The Nighthawks were led by Addy Haley’s 311.

It’s nearing the championship point for the Peru boys as they continue an undefeated season as well, with a 3.5-2.5 win over Saranac.

It came down to the 10th frame of the third game to determine a winner between both teams.

Ian Reil led Peru with a 644 and high game of 240. Lance Hemingway was just off the pace with a 627 series. Zech Boucher rolled a 554.

Saranac was led by David Frederick’s 646 series. Ayzek Dumas kept things interesting with a 634.

Plattsburgh High and AuSable Valley traded wins in bowling as the Hornet boys and Patriot girls took home 4-0 sweeps.

On the boys’ side, Sebastien Berner finished with a match-high 661 series as teammate Eli Wilson added a 630.

Jarrett Mattioli bowled a personal best game of 176 and series of 478 to lead. AuSable Valley’s Charles McClatchie added a 319 series.

For the Patriots, on the girls’ side, Elanore Quinn finished with a 523 series with Milo Eaton adding a 441.

Plattsburgh was led by Sophie Rancour’s 410 series and Lauren Comins’ 401.

Beekmantown walked away with two wins in boys’ and girls’ bowling against NAC.

On the boys’ side, Logan Hart led the Eagles with a 597 series as teammates Alan Russell and Owen Howard added series of 533 and 516, respectively.

The Bobcats were led by Chase Nichols rolling a 560 and Wyatt Stone adding a 537.

Tori Bump led the Beekmantown girls to a sweep thanks to a 595 series. Olivia Corrow added a 503 series.

Piper Bruce led NAC with a 528 series with teammate Lia Bennett adding a 381.
