Breaking: Phillies superstar pitcher Cristopher Sanchez will be the National League starting pitcher for Tuesday’s All-Star Game in Philadelphia

— Jon Heyman (@JonHeyman) July 12, 2026

Sanchez has blossomed into the Phillies' ace this year, going 11-4 with a 2.62 ERA, a 1.18 WHIP and 144 strikeouts. Sanchez also pitched 50 2/3 innings without allowing a run — the longest scoreless streak by a pitcher in Phillies history. It's the longest scoreless streak for a left-hander in Major League Baseball history. Overall, it's the fifth-longest streak since 1893. Sanchez fell 8 1/3 innings short of Orel Hershiser's record.

Sanchez is the seventh Phillies pitcher to start an All-Star Game.

This is Sanchez's second All-Star Game. He opened the sixth inning in 2024 and faced two batters. He got Tampa Bay's Isaac Paredes and Cleveland's Josh Naylor to ground out.

Last season, despite an 8-2 record with a 2.50 ERA and 122 strikeouts, Sanchez was left off the NL All-Star roster.
