Sabres' playoff ticket prices cost by far the most in the NHL originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
On the one hand, it makes perfect sense that the most expensive playoff tickets in the NHL are to watch the Buffalo Sabres.
It'll be their first playoff game since April 2011. It's been a long drought for Buffalo hockey fans.
By the same token, holy cow, these tickets are costly.
The Deseret News in Utah compared ticket prices for each of the NHL's playoff teams, providing data both for the cheapest seat in the building and the most expensive.
At the time of the information gathering, the cheapest ticket to watch the Sabres' first game against the Boston Bruins was $464.
The most expensive? A cool $7,062.
The next-most expensive of the cheap tickets is the Philadelphia Flyers, at $310. They hadn't been in the playoffs since 2020.
The second-most expensive of the top prices is the Montreal Canadiens, at $5,892.

The reality in Buffalo is that you can probably go anywhere in the city on Sunday and find a spot to watch Game 1. There won't be a TV set in all of Western New York with anything else on but the hockey game.
It's an exciting time for Sabres fans, finally. It's been a long, long time -- 14 seasons in a row missing the playoffs.
Now, the time has arrived. Playoff hockey in Buffalo.
It's gonna cost you.
