On Monday evening, news broke that former ESPN analyst Ryan Clark had been let go by the network after more than a decade of work.

While he did lead off a string of other layoffs from the "Worldwide Leader in Sports," a series of snarky on-air remarks was a large factor in why ESPN executives "soured on him." A day after his firing, Clark took to social media and shared a message in support of the ensuing network layoffs.

At the moment, it is unclear how Clark will proceed with his career. However, he appears to be remaining hopeful about the future.

Ryan Clark message after ESPN layoff​

Less than 24 hours after he was bluntly fired from ESPN, Clark posted a message in support of the network's additional recent layoffs.

Sending prayers and love to all those laid off today by ESPN. So many of you have poured your life into that company, & I know how you’re feeling right now.

My hope is as this door closes another opens for you all. God bless!

At the moment, it is unclear where Clark will go next. The longtime Pittsburgh Steelers safety joined ESPN as an NFL analyst on February 18, 2015, the same day he retired from professional football.

Why was Ryan Clark fired?​

Clark was the first major name let go from the network's string of recent layoffs. The main reason why Clark was reportedly let go was related to how he conducted himself on air.

According to The Athletic, the report refers to how ESPN executives "soured on Clark" in recent months after an on-air incident between Clark and analyst Peter Schrager in September, in which Clark belittled Schrager because he never played in the NFL.
