After giving the media a chance to speak to head coach Greg Schiano, offensive coordinator Kirk Ciarrocca, and defensive coordinator Travis Johansen, the program has started the press conferences where members of the media can ask questions to position coaches. This time, it was wide receivers coach Dave Brock’s turn at the mic to answer questions for the first time this offseason.

The first question that was asked had to do with how important it was to get KJ Duff back and how he sees him compared to other great wide receivers he has coached. Brock not only took the time to praise Duff’s development, but he also gave insight into how hard Duff works to get where he is, and how he has really come around as a leader on the team as well.

Later on in the press conference, he took the time to address the fact that, minus Duff, the wide receiver room is inexperienced. In response, Brock shared that he is excited about the current room and that they are trying to find each of their players’ unique abilities to maximize the production that they can have when they do play.

He also got the chance to talk about Famah Toure and how he has been in the off-season since he suffered a season-ending injury last spring. Brock pointed out how excited they were to see what he could do before he went down last spring, and now that he is returning from injury, he has another opportunity to show what he can do or as Brock put it, “The sky is the limit.” He also expressed a similar belief while talking about Jourdin Houston later in the press conference.

He also addressed the fact that the staff didn’t bring in a receiver in the transfer portal by saying that he has total confidence in the guys currently in the room and how that making a pickup like that wasn’t part of the plan they decided to execute.
