Rutgers basketball’s lone recruit of the 2026 class, Imahri Wooten, has been nominated to participate in the 2026 McDonald’s All-American Game.
Wooten signed with Rutgers in early November, despite holding offers from several power 4 schools, including Auburn, Seton Hall, St. Johns and Virginia Tech.
The six-foot-four, 180-pounder hails from Troy, New York, but has attended high school all around the US. He played the 2023 season at Compass Prep in Arizona, the 2024 season at Putnam Science Academy in Connecticut, before returning home to play the 2025 season at Redemption Christian Academy. He also played on the City Rocks AAU Team in the Nike EYBL Circuit.
This season as a senior, Wooten is averaging 29.6 points per game, 4.2 rebounds per game, and 5.5 assists per game for Redemption Christian Academy. He has scored more than 40 points in a game twice so far this season and has reached the 30-point mark eight times.
During his time with City Rocks, Wooten averaged 8.7 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game.
Now that Wooten has been nominated, he will have to wait to hear if he is selected by the committee of basketball experts who sort through the nominations. The selections should be announced sometime in early February.
