My guess. Diggs for our 3rd this and next
Local new publications have been running a lot of Trent Williams stories the last couple of days. Gotta go with that one if I was a betting man.
The only name that makes sense is Reddick -- maybe one of the 3 WRs drafted from last year (but that wouldn't be "big"). DJ is practically untradeable at his salary. I guess Peterson would be big but that would make no sense as it would just make the team worse...maybe we found someone dumb enough to take Alford. I hope if it is the Cardinals giving up draft picks for an established player it isn't anything higher than a third.
Trent Williams makes no sense at his age and salary demands considering what we just signed Hump to.
If it’s a 1st for Peterson(it won’t be), I would drive Peterson to the airport so quick myself.
Thanks for sharing, hope it is finalized and it comes to fruition. We can all speculate but DJ going makes the most sense.
I'm with the folks who say it is Reddick. Trading D.J. without having Drake signed with all i's dotted and t's crosses would be foolish. Even after that it is questionable
to eat that much dead cap space.
Reddick for a third would be fantastic, but probably unrealistic.
Trading Reddick would free $4.3mm in cap space
even if its a 7th, its like trading for a contributing starter
Diggs and Chris Jones would be considered big trades IMO but unlikely
Calais Campbell would be amazing
Sounds crazy but we would only get a 2.4m hit to cap if we trade Humphries for Trent Williams (7 time pro bowler). Is that the reason we didn't give him a big signing bonus? The Redskins need a LT. Grassy knoll stuff...I get it.
Trading Reddick wouldn't be big IMO but trading him and/or David Johnson would be.
If PP21 said I am absolutely not re-signing here, that could be the trade but I expect he will sign a new deal here. If not, a #1 pick in this years draft would be awesome.
Cards trade DJ
Cards trade Reddick
Cards trade for Stefon Diggs
Cards trade for Christian McCaffrey (I had this as a long shot but no longer think it would be)
Cards trade for Allen Robinson
Cards trade for Geno Atkins
Murray to McCaffrey. M&Ms. Yeah that's cheesy.
Seems pretty unlikely. That would require at least a 1st but hey Reddick played for Rhule and D coordinator Snow at Temple so might as well throw him in too while we are fantasizing.
The Panthers are selling. Trai Turner was an amazing player and they got rid of him. McCaffrey has one more year and an option year before he is scheduled to be a FA. Cardinals need a RB and have a history of valuing the position more than others. If the Panthers are not interested in McCaffrey long term, why not trade him while his value is high?
According to Overthecap it frees up $2.4 million and adds $1.9 million to dead cap.
