SOFTBALL
Northwest 13, Rock Hill 4
Behind a complete game four-hitter from Kamryn Journey and a strong offensive performance from Kendra Bostwick, the Northwest Mohawks' softball program rolled to a 13-4 road victory over the Rock Hill Redwomen Friday evening in Pedro.
In her complete game performance, Journey struck out seven batters in the triumph, while Bostwick ignited the offense from her cleanup spot by going 3-for-5 with a home run, two doubles, four RBI and two runs scored in the contest.
Along with Bostwick, Lauren Copp, who went 3-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored from her leadoff spot, Riley Pertuset, who added in a 2-for-4 day at the plate with a double and two RBI, and Abigail Farmer, who was terrific in the nine-hole by going 2-for-4 with a triple and three runs scored, all enjoyed multi-hit performances.
Lilly Wolfenbarker (1-for-5, double, two runs scored) and Joshline Sanford (1-for-5, run scored) rounded out the offensive production for Northwest.
BASEBALL
Green 17, Racine Southern 0 (F/5)
Posting its third shutout in a row and its fourth over its last five contests, the Green Bobcats' baseball program continued showcasing a dominant effort, plastering Racine Southern in a 17-0 mercy-rule triumph Friday evening in Racine.
Between Green pitchers Kase McIntyre and Gabe Blevins, the Bobcats got a five-hit shutout from the pair, with the duo combining for five strikeouts in the game. Blevins also went 2-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and three runs scored to boot offensively in the contest.
Brennan Renison went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored and Mason Neal 3-for-5 with a run scored while Jonathan Knapp, who went 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and three runs scored, joined Blevins in the multi-hit column.
Riddick Jenkins (1-for-4, walk, two RBI, run scored) and Luke Kimbler (1-for-3, walk, two RBI, two runs scored) rounded out the main offensive performers for Green.
Minford 11, Eastern Pike 1 (F/5)
In its third mercy-rule win in a row, the Minford Falcons' baseball program ran its record to a 5-0 mark with an 11-1 triumph over the Eastern Pike Eagles' baseball program in five innings on Friday evening in Minford.
Minford was led by terrific efforts from Max Lauder and Mason Bradley at the top of the order, with Lauder and Bradley combining to go a perfect 7-for-7 with a double, a walk, three RBI and five runs scored in the contest.
Mark Napier (1-for-2, RBI), Evan Richards (1-for-2, run scored) and Curtis Glenn (1-for-3, run scored) added to the Falcons' production offensively.
On the bump, Minford's Jacob Vititoe posted a complete game effort, striking out six batters in a complete game six-hitter to lead the Falcons (5-0) in the win.
