The 2025 NFL draft is almost here for the Green Bay Packers and the other 31 NFL teams. The year's biggest roster-building event kicks off Thursday night from Green Bay.

What are the Packers going to do? Leaks during draft week are dangerous but can sometimes shed light on the process.

Here are some rumors to monitor for the Packers as the draft approaches:

Albert Breer, SI: Focusing on cornerback, offensive line

In his annual post, Breer talks with pro scouting directors to gauge needs around the league. For the Packers, he narrowed it down to cornerback and offensive line, and ultimately mocked Kentucky cornerback Maxwell Hairston to the Packers in the first round.

From Breer: "Corner is the first place to look here, with Jaire Alexander’s place on the team still in flux, and Hairston would be a wheelhouse pick—as a lightning-fast DB out of the SEC—for GM Brian Gutekunst. Ole Miss’s Trey Amos would fit, too. This could also be where the window for the second wave of tackles (Oregon’s Josh Conerly Jr., Ohio State’s Josh Simmons) opens, with Green Bay having a left tackle, in Rasheed Walker, headed into a contract year."

Rob Demovsky, ESPN: Packers prefer Mykel Williams at edge rusher?

In ESPN's beat reporter mock draft, Demovsky picked Texas A&M's Shemar Stewart at No. 23, bypassing several intriguing receivers still available at No. 23. But the nugget to take away? The Packers like a different edge rusher better than Stewart. It's Georgia's Mykel Williams, who could be long gone by the time the Packers are on the clock.

From Demovsky: "Two decades of passing on a receiver in the first round makes it hard to predict the Packers would finally end that streak even though Emeka Egbuka and Matthew Golden were both available. Their preferred pass rusher would've been Mykell Williams, but Stewart is likely next on their board."

Adam Schefter, ESPN: First-round WR?

On "The Adam Schefter Podcast," the ESPN insider made a quick but notable mention of the Packers possibly breaking the team's two-decades-long streak of not picking a receiver in the first round.

"Maybe that streak comes to an end," Schefter said after mentioning Javon Walker in 2002 as the last first-round receiver selected by the Packers.

Earlier this month, Tony Pauline of Sportskeeda reported the Packers are looking receiver in Round 1, with Matthew Golden and Emeka Egbuka as the top options.
