Rose Namajunas has gone under the knife following her most recent loss.

Namajunas, a former UFC women's strawweight champion, got eye surgery following her loss to Natalia Silva this past Saturday on the main card of UFC 324, which took place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. "Thug" Rose specifically went for surgery to get a canalicular tube, which is a small, flexible tube placed in the eyelid's tear drainage system to treat injuries. She claims the injury came from eye pokes by Silva.

"Alright, guys. I'm headed into surgery, canalicular tube eye surgery," Namajunas revealed on Instagram. "Yeah, I got poked in the eye a few times in the eye, so yeah. My tube is torn, so it's going to be repaired right now, and I might have a silicone tube in the eye for three months, so pray for me guys. I'm just glad we can get it fixed."

There were no official stoppages at anytime during the bout by the referee overseeing the fight to acknowledge any eye pokes. However, there are several moments seen where Silva pushed off the face of Nanajunas in a clinch with an open hand.

Nanajunas lost a 29-28 unanimous decision to Silva. Many online protested the scoring of the tight, and competitive UFC women's flyweight bout. The defeat put Namajunas at a 3-3 record since moving up to 125 pounds in 2024. It also snapped a two-fight winning streak that had her in title contention.
