I don’t see why some people are enthralled with Beck??? My son in law’s family are all UGA fans. They cheered the day Beck left. He was never a talent at UGA. I have watched him closely the last 2-3 years. I’m not at all impressed. He will not succeed in the NFL, if he even has an NFL career.
Who is "enthralled" with Beck? Nobody as far as I can tell.

Personally, other than Mendoza I think this QB class is pretty putrid. Do I prefer taking Beck in round 2 over Simpson or Moore in the top 5? Yes, as we need a really good player drafting that high, not flying a wing and a prayer on flawed QBs marginally better than Beck. Does that mean I am enthralled with Beck? Hell no. Pass on him too for all I care. Just get really good players.

Carson Beck at 32
Beck may easily find himself in the 1st round if Miami keeps winning. Trade back up into the 1st round at 32 sounds like a good idea. The Miami wins are mostly attributed to their defense and running game but as long as Beck doesn't resort to dumb moments, his stock will continue to rise.

I've been saying for over a month, I think we should draft Beck. Mostly because he was projected to be a 3rd/4th rounder. How can you not take a chance on someone who consistently wins against the best competition.

However, my biggest justification to draft Beck... he was back playing after 8 months removed from Tommy John surgery. It's proven that it takes the baseball players a minimum of 12-18 months to get back. Beck is making tough throws but probably doesn't have 100% arm strength back yet. What would we look like if we had a healthy Beck with championship pedigree?

What is the track record of our Strength & Condition, and Training staff in dealing with young players' injuries?

Some team will draft him, I can't imagine he'd be any worse than Clayton Tune lol.

Yes, Mendoza is the ONLY QB in this class worthy of a top 10 pick. Personally, I don’t think there’s another QB in this class that I would take in the first round, let alone top 10. First pick needs to be an OLineman.

We did move up to #4 yesterday because of the the Giants beating the Cowboys, Mendoza will get picked by the Raiders more than likely. They would probably ask for a fortune to move up but is Mendoza worth all of that? Would MB allow that trade? Correction, I looked at the draft order again & we moved up to #3 ahead of the Titans, how did this happen? Our SOS should be way harder with both of us having 3 wins.

Yep, we’re at 3. Are there any stud OLinemen in this draft? Or take an Edge guy.

After Mendoza, there are no QB’s even remotely worth taking at 3.
According to you. Others would argue that point. Year to year most people complain that the QBs in the class aren't ready and will be overdrafted. That is just reality now of what college football is giving the NFL. Sometimes it is true, and sometimes it isn't.

I am starting to be of the mind that after you get past a few base level factors, a lot of QB success is landing spot and what those players choose to do on their own.

Been saying this for awhile. Build the trenches.
I like building the trenches but this would not be the best use of the 3rd pick in this draft based on the players available. Better to just spend in FA and draft in rounds 2-4.

One of the mistakes Monti made was flooding the CB room vs OL or DL room. The OL has 5 starting spot and you generally can carry up to 10 on the roster. DL starts 3, uses a rotation, and carries 5-7. There is just more room to churn the OL and hold onto your hits.

The issue wasn't Monti signing Evan Brown. It was signing Evan Brown and then being unable to acquire/develop a better player over those two seasons. Same with Will. Same with Jonah and Beach. Same with Fro.

That's exactly what Monti has done the past three years.

Gaines, Adams, Conner, Jones, Fryar.... All within the last two years. We gotta have at least a couple of these guys hit and be starters going forward

the point is that at OL, you can still churn. Monti had used lower picks vs using premium picks which has been the issue.

In 2025. Monti selected Wil Johnson in round 2 and Jordan Burch in round 3.

Aireontae Ersery was selected the pick after Johnson and has started 16 games for the playoff bound Texans. Ozzy Trapilo also selected in round 2 and has started every Bears game since week 12. Jared Wilson was drafted after Jordan Burch in round 3 and has started 13 games for the playoff bound Pats.

You can do that in the 2024 and 2023 draft as well.

It's less about the players and more about the priority. Monti has had 10 2nd and 3rd round picks combined, has drafted 1 OL, and missed.

True, but it sure would be nice if 3 or 4 of these guys can at LEAST be solid backups if not solid starters. It killed me seeing Josh Jones starting at LT for the Seahawks Saturday and playing very well. I believe he was a second or third round pick which supports your point. We churned him right out of here for a 5th round pick which turned into Christian Jones.
