- Rory McIlroy said his upcoming Masters dinner will "acknowledge" Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson, who have a combined seven wins at Augusta National
- Woods, 50, was arrested on a DUI charge after he crashed his SUV on March 27 in Florida
- Mickelson, 55, announced he would not play in the tournament due to a "personal health matter"
Rory McIlroy is ready to celebrate his Masters win at its annual dinner, where he’s planning on acknowledging Tiger Woods, less than two weeks after the golfer’s DUI arrest and crash in Florida.
The Northern Irish golfer told the Golf Channel that he is looking forward to the special night on Tuesday, April 7, and that Woods as well as Phil Mickelson — who has bowed out of the tournament due to a family health matter — will be honored for their roles as “two of the greatest champions” at the iconic tournament.
"Unfortunately, there will be a couple of guys that won't be in that room, which is a shame, but I want to make sure that they're acknowledged as well," McIlroy, 36, said. "They've been two of the greatest champions that the Masters has ever seen. But it's going to be a really cool night. I can't wait. I hope everyone enjoys the dinner and enjoys everything that I've selected."
Woods, 50, is seeking treatment following his arrest on March 27, after deputies said they found two hydrocodone tablets in his pants pocket after he crashed his SUV, and “observed several signs of impairment,” including "bloodshot and glassy" eyes and "extremely dilated" pupils, they alleged in a probable cause affidavit obtained by PEOPLE.
In bodycam obtained by PEOPLE, the five-time Masters champion told authorities at the scene in Jupiter Island, Fla. that he was “hoping to” play in the Masters and that it “depends on y’all.”

Earlier in the week, the 82-time PGA Tour champion returned to competitive golf for the first time since June 2024 when he played in the TGL finals virtual golf league. Woods had his seventh back surgery last October and ruptured his Achilles last spring on the eve of the Masters.
Mickelson, 55, announced last week that he was withdrawing from the tournament due to a family health matter.
"Unfortunately, I will not play in the Masters Tournament next week and will be out for an extended period of time as my family continues to navigate a personal health matter,” the three-time Masters champion said in a statement shared on social media on Thursday, April 2. “I have great respect for Augusta National Golf Club and it is definitely the most special week of the year.”
