PALM BEACH GARDENS — As the WTGL continues to fill its roster by adding two rising stars on the LPGA Tour, PGA Tour players believe the high-tech, indoor league can help grow women's golf.

"I think what (TGL has) done for us and for even our games and the exposure we get now, it's great for us," said Jupiter's Shane Lowry, who plays for TGL's Bay Golf Club.

"And it's going to be great for the women, as well. I think they'll enjoy it. They'll have a great time doing it. Hopefully the crowds come out and watch them, and it's going to be on TV, as well."

The WTGL announced this week the addition of former Florida State standout and No. 11 in the world Lottie Woad and two-time LPGA champion Rose Zhang.

Woad and Zhang both won their professional debuts and both are former world No. 1 amateurs and Augusta National Women’s Amateur champions.

The first wave of players committing to the WTGL included three of the top 6 players in the world — No. 1 Jeeno Thitikul, No. 5 Charley Hull, No. 6 Lydia Ko — along with 14-time LGPA winner Brooke Henderson and 11-time LPGA Tour winner Lexi Thompson of Delray Beach.

Rory McIlroy, one of the co-founders of TGL along with Tiger Woods and TMRW Sports CEO Mike McCarley, cited the investors in TWRW Sports who are heavily invested in women's sports.

"I think it's a great opportunity to showcase the women's game in a different way, maybe showcase their personalities a little bit more, as well," said McIlroy, who plays for Boston Common Golf. "I think everyone is excited for it."

LPGA commissioner Craig Kessler and McCarley announced the formation of the WTGL Jan. 6, a move that was part of the plan when the league was formed before debuting at the SoFi Center in 2025.
