Rory McIlroy is looking to win his second straight Masters after ending his decade-plus major tournament drought last year, and through two rounds, he's certainly off to a great start.

After turning in a 5-under Round 1 that put him in a tie for the lead entering Friday's second round, McIlroy was even better on Day 2. He shot a 7-under round that featured nine birdies, six of which came on the back nine.

The last of those birdies came on Hole 17, where McIlroy hit a miraculous chip-in to expand his lead even further. It was one of four straight birdies from McIlroy to end the round.

McIlroy's overall score of 12-under gives him a six-stroke lead over Sam Burns and Patrick Reed, the former of whom began the day in a tie for the lead, while the latter shot his second-straight 3-under round on Friday. McIlroy will hope that luck continues into the weekend as he seeks to become just the fourth back-to-back Masters champion ever and the first since Tiger Woods in 2001-02.
